The slalom site is on the River Devon between Fishcross and Alva (Map OS Reference is NS894960).
If coming from Alva on the A91, turn right once you have left Alva (signposted Fishcross). The slalom site is on the left hand side with the entrance set back of the road before the slalom site. Look for a telegraph pole with a small white sign and an orange round traffic mirror.
If coming from Kincardine Bridge, follow signs for Sterling Mills on the A908 but turn left at Fishcross onto the B9140 and then first right signposted for the Equestrian Centre.
If using SATNAV, use postcode FK10 3AW (This is on the other side of the river but within sight of the slalom site).

NEW for 2019 – Practice
Scottish Schools is a special event in that we have novice paddlers up to Prem paddlers all paddling the same course.
However this can mean that the water can get very congested during practice and can be intimidating for some of the younger paddlers. So following up for feedback last year, this year we are going to trial separate practice times. On Saturday practice from 9-10:30 will be free practice for Div 3 and 4 paddlers only; from 10:30-11:30 the course will be
open to everyone. We would plan to do the same on Sunday (but an hour earlier), but will confirm once we have seen how Saturday has gone.
There will be no official practice runs.
Provisional Start Times
Saturday (Div 3/4 and Scottish Schools Kayak)
Open Practice Div 3 &4 – 9:00-10:30
Open Practice for all – 10:30-11:30
First run – 12:00
Second Run – 14:00
Team runs after the end of second runs
Sunday (Div 3/4 and Scottish Schools C1 and C2s)
First runs – 11:00
Second runs – 13:00
Because C2 and C1s are being shared, Canadian competitors need to space out their runs and will be slotted throughout the programme. Please pay attention listen out for announcement about classes to start competing – especially on the
Please work out which other competitors you are sharing a boat with!
Please can I remind you that competitors who finish their run must stay on the water to act as safety for the next two Competitors.
